If you've been following I Sleep With The Pastor for sometime, you have seen laughter, tears, pain, joy, and even some arrests. It has been a joy relating to each of you, as you cheer on the pastor with a front row seat. I have been a new pastor's wife, a young one, a seasoned one, and a pastor's wife out of commission. After two years, of growing, healing, and rest from full-time ministry, the Lord has called me back to the battlefield. This summer we are taking a leap of faith to plant a second church, in a new location in Knoxville, TN. In 2009, we moved to Nashville TN to plant Forward (Church) Nashville. In 2015, God placed the same vision in our hearts in a new location. Right now we are currently building a team, and in the fundraising stages for Forward Knoxville.
As I sat and prayed over each envelope I stuffed two days ago, I prayed the Lord would use His people all over this country to support the ministry of Forward Knoxville. We mailed over 300 letters of faith to fellow pastors, pastors' wives, people in ministry, friends, and family so far, with another 200 to mail next week. "Thank you Lord for a supporter" has been the heartbeat of my prayers in this fundraising process.
It is never easy to ask for money. It isn't easy to ask for money for personal reasons, and it isn't easy to ask for money for other reasons either. But, I rest assured in knowing the money I am asking for isn't for me. It isn't for my family, and it isn't for material things. The money I am reaching out for, is the money to see the Great Commission go forth in Knoxville, TN. The money is for the unchurched, the lost, the hurting, the hungry, the hopeless. It is to help fund a movement. A movement of love, to love on the Bride of Christ.
We are all in this together. Taking small parts in each others lives, all a part of His great story. We are all put on this earth in this time, to Glorify God, and make His name known. Whether it is taking a small part in providing for water in Africa, or taking a small part in paying for someone in line behind you a Starbucks. We have opportunities to play small parts in each others stories, no matter where we are. You may not be called to Knoxville, but I don't doubt you are called to come alongside of us and partner with us to reach the city of Knoxville, TN financially.
I can't thank you enough for the support and encouragement along the way. I started I Sleep With The Pastor to share my stories with other pastors' wives and women in ministry. Little did I know, how much I would benefit from your stories, and from re-reading old stories I had long ago wrote that the Lord placed on my heart. You guys are a blessing to me, and so many other people because of your ministry and faithfulness!
