I am so sick of the enemy lying to people. His lies are sweet and enticing, and we so often fall for them. There is nothing that makes me more mad, than to see people I love stuck in a rut because they have listened to the lies, believed the lies, accepted them, and reasoned them as just a part of who they are.
ISAIAH 26:3 YOU KEEP IN PERFECT PEACE WHOSE MIND HAS STAYED ON YOU, BECAUSE HE TRUSTS IN YOU.
2 TIMOTHY 1:7 FOR GOD GAVE US A SPIRIT OF NOT FEAR BUT OF POWER AND LOVE AND SELF CONTROL
Stop telling the world around you that you believe in Jesus' truths and the enemy's lies too. How exactly does that work? How is it going for you this far? Stop walking in bondage you have already been freed from. You look silly carrying around chains that aren't even bound to you. Stop wishing and hoping to be freed from your fear one day, and start believing you are already free from it.
Galations 5:1 FOR FREEDOM CHRIST HAS SET US FREE; STAND FIRM THEREFORE, AND DO NOT SUBMIT TO A YOKE OF SLAVERY.
Stop speaking fear, and defeat out loud for the enemy to hear. Romans and Ephesians tell us to renew our minds. Renew your mind and set it on the truth, and start speaking out loud life over yourself. I promise you, if you renew your mind, and start speaking out loud God's truths, and what He says about your circumstances, not only will the enemy flee from you BUT YOU WILL START BELIEVING IN GOD'S WORD over the enemy's lies.
When the disciples were on the boat, and they saw Jesus, every one of them was afraid. How do we know that? Because, only one left the boat. Peter. He faced his fear, and what did he do? He overcame it the moment he placed his first foot out of the boat onto water. People!!! I can only imagine what that other disciples were thinking...If one of them were me, I could tell you right now what my thoughts would have been. Maybe tomorrow. I am sure I will get another opportunity. Next time, I will face my fear. The moment I have enough strength to do it, I will do it. Eventually, just give me time. Maybe next month I will have courage, by some chance.
The only way to overcome fear, is to face it.
What happens next. We all know it, the disciples greatest fear begins to happen to Peter midway through his journey walking to Jesus. He starts looking left and right, and relies on himself. In result, he begins to sink. What does Jesus do next, he IMMEDIATELY pulls Peter back up and says "Why did you doubt?"
Notice it didn't take Jesus even a second to get to Peter. It never said he started drowning, or swimming back, or anything of sorts. Jesus immediately took hold of him. Don't forget why Peter started sinking in the first place. He started taking control of the situation around him, rather than keeping his eyes on Jesus.
PHILIPPIANS 4:13 I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH
We can't overcome our fear believing the lies the enemy has whispered in our ears, and staying in the boat. Trust me, it's way better to take your chances sinking and have Jesus immediately take your hand, than it is to stay defeated on the boat deck never knowing and asking the question "What if?"
You are not only affecting your own life, but you are affecting the lives around you. What are you telling people around you by your actions, and words of death and fear? Renew your mind, speak God's truth out loud, believe it, FACE YOUR FEAR, & OVERCOME IT.
Get out of the boat, Peter.
