As pastors' wives we hear a whole lot of opinions, and see more glaring eyes than desired. I think we weigh in others thoughts about us, about the ministries we lead, and about our husbands way too often. "He isn't feeding me anymore through his sermons." "The pastor's wife doesn't smile enough, and doesn't tend to my needs like I think she should." "This church isn't growing, or moving in any direction."
As bad as man's opinion can be of us, we shouldn't let it hinder who we are. Christ was called many things here on earth, but He never allowed the words and actions of others to stop His purpose and change His heart. He loved people, dismissed man's opinion, and walked with His eyes set on the Father. He was unwavering, and unchanging until His mission here on earth was complete.
We need to stop being like waves tossed about in the ocean by all the opinions and glares being shot our way. Stand steady and firm in Christ, and walk in confidence and humility with the purpose He has given you in every season. Quit losing sight of the mission in the fog of opinions. In this season, see everything God has given you and called you to and do it well. Love those who persecute you. And accomplish all that He has set out for you.
