Uncomfortable days are going to come as a pastor's wife. Days where hosting, and leading a life group is a lot of work. Sunday mornings when you have to give a whole lot of yourself to a whole lot of people. Week days your going to have to lay down so your husband can sermon prep, meet with church people/staff members, and do ministry work. While not all days are uncomfortable, and there are many more joyous, amazing ones than not. Uncomfortable is just another part of diligently doing the work in which God has given you.
Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me.
If you think turning from selfishness and carrying a cross daily is comfortable, then you have another thing coming. Pastor's wife, on top of turning from your selfishness, and carrying a cross as you follow Jesus, you are helping shepherd a church with your husband. And with shepherding a church, comes helping others carry their crosses until they figure out how to carry their own. Sometimes, its helping your husband carry His cross when he gets discouraged. Sometimes, there is a whole lot of uncomfortable. Days you want to quit. Days another life would be easy.
But in the hard days, is so often when the beauty and glory of Jesus is displayed most. Days we have to give all we have left for other people and allow Jesus to carry us through. It is when we get uncomfortable, that Jesus' unconditional, unfailing, unwavering strength and love overwhelms circumstance.
