When I see the pastor, I see a strong woman who loves him. My husband has said before from stage, "I wouldn't be who I am without my wife along side of me." I don't want to toot your horn pastors' wives, but it is true. God has created the pastors, and could do all He wants through them alone, but God knew your husbands needed you. God knew the pastor could be all he could be with you along side of him.
The first, and one of the most important aspects to the pastor's wife I have noticed pastors' need, is their encouragement. They need the encouragement from their wives. Encouragement is like fuel to the ministry. When the most important person in their life is "for them" and is an encouragement to all they are doing, it strengthens them and encourages them to be steadfast.
The second aspect and one that it equally important to the first, is a strong woman. Pastors' wives are one of the strongest women I know. They have to be. I don't even have to go into detail about all that the pastor's wife does or goes through in her season in full time ministry with the pastor. But, trusting God in this season of sacrifice for her, and her family is an amazing thing to see. And when it is done right, it is a beautiful display of God's love and how He laid down His life for the church.
Last, pastors' wives are incredible leaders. Whether they have flourished in this area yet or not. God knew the pastor needed someone who could shepherd and love on His church alongside of him. Most often their leading goes unnoticed, and flies under the radar. But their display of leading is one of my favorites. You can most often find the pastor's wife leading like Jesus lead, by serving. Jesus had a servant's heart. If you can't find the pastor's wife on Sunday, she can usually be found washing the feet of people.
Pastors' wives you are an amazing group of women. You are strong, full of love, and are great encouragers. God sees all that you do, and He is proud! He knew you were the perfect one to walk in this season with your husband. Keep flourishing where you are, into who God created you to be. Walk in confidence and humility knowing, where God has called you, He has equipped you. You are doing great!
