Last night I did something I haven't done in years. Something I use to slow down a bit and take in and enjoy. Before full time ministry, and children I often did this with my husband. We would lay under the dark sky filled with stars, and marvel in silence at God's beautiful creation. We would slow down earth's busy, chaotic time to rest and take in the moment God gave us. For those moments we would forget our burdens and the weight we carried to sit at Jesus' feet and breathe Him in. When was the last time you did this, pastor's wife?
We don't need to wait until we are out of full time ministry or until the kids are grown to let our hearts and minds rest in the moment God has given us. Most of the time, this isn't a moment we will stumble upon. We have to intentionally be in it. During nap times, or maybe while the kids play, those times you are alone in your car, the times you find free time, those times gaze at Jesus and sit in His presence. Whether that is under a sky full of stars, watching the sunny trees sway back and forth, or in the silence of a car ride. Look at Him and calm your spirit.
Would you intentionally find these moments with me today and throughout our busy weeks?
