I have said it before and I will continue saying it. Pastors' wives, be all that God intended you to be. This doesn't mean if you are an introvert, stay being a die hard introvert. Or if you are naturally opinionated, become confident and over opinionated. What it looks like to flourish where you are and to be all that God intended you to be, is to seek Jesus every minute of every day and let His grace cover over you.
God has created us all differently. I am naturally introverted, and thrive in certain environments better than others. Sunday mornings for an introverted heart, can be a nightmare. I thrive in one on one settings, and in small groups. Taking on Sunday mornings for me was a challenge, and I found myself giving more Sunday morning mirror "self help" pep talks than I can count. I was running off of what I could do, and the expectations others laid on me that I didn't know how to flourish or allow God to grow me in this area.
What I didn't realize then, that God has taught me over the years is to keep my eyes on Him. He can handle the rest. He can take a natural introvert and make her an extrovert. He can take a frightened twenty year old and turn her into a humble, confident woman. He can use the young at heart, to conquer the giants. He can use a terrible communicator to communicate to others.
Where I am unable, He is able. The bible was full of unequipped people, that God equipped. But where we get messed up and confused is when we start trying to equip ourselves, and make our ends meet. Obviously, we were unequipped before so we are still unable to equip now. We need to stop getting in the way and allow God to use what we have, to give all that He has. We have to accept what we lack, and be ok with it. Accept who you are, and allow God's grace to wash over you and flourish you where you are.
Pastors' wife, be all that God intended you to be, and don't allow where you lack to hinder who you are.
