Long suffering comes with the title. As a pastor's wife there is a lot of patience and endurance we need when it comes to shepherding, leading, and loving the people God has brought into our lives. When we were born into sin, part of it was a temperamental flesh. Let's own up, we are impatient people. If we weren't, than the bible wouldn't speak often of it. 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 says, Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
If God is love, and love is patient, and patience is long suffering. We must put on long suffering to endure the race God has given us. Colossians 3 says, to put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long suffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another. Let me break it down into layman terms. We must love people through their flaws and imperfections, without wanting anything in return.
Pastor's wife, the way you love people (long suffering,) their "flaws and all" will be the greatest way you ever display Christ.
