As pastors' wives we cannot let our identity be found in being a pastor's wife. While we are called to this position for a short time, a pastor's wife isn't an identity rather than it is a position or calling. We cannot find our purpose and fulfillment in being a wife of a pastor.
My identity is Jessica, and who I am in Christ. Never lose sight of who you are, because if a new season comes and you no longer have what you found your identity in, then it can crush you. Temporary identities, aren't true identities. Wrapping our identities in the temporary, will ultimately lead us to losing our identities when the temporary has come and gone. We must wrap our identity in the eternal.
Eternal identity is who you are in Christ. You are the daughter of the king that is loved and adored, that has been given a temporary mission and purpose to Glorify God. You are the hands and feet of Jesus, and part of that is being a pastor's wife right now wherever you are at.
Do not allow the temporary define who you are.
Do not allow your position and calling become your identity.
Your identity is you, and who you are in Christ.
