Yesterday was the last day of Forward Church. It was a beautiful service. We opened up with two baptisms, and two leaders stepped up in the church to cast vision about Forward Nashville.
For the past five years we have been a church with the motto, "this is no Sunday kind of church." Little did Jim and I know, the vision we had been pushing for so long wasn't the vision for Forward Church itself, but for the future of what Forward Church would become, Forward Nashville.
Forward Nashville is no Sunday kind of church. They aren't a local church anymore. They are the Church. They are "Send Me" minded. They are a group of people connected to many different churches, and loyal to each of their bodies but are unified as one being the Church.
They have a dream and vision to take what they have learned and come to love about Forward Church, and not stick together but disperse among the city to different churches, and come together weekly or monthly for a worship service. A worship service for pastors, worship leaders, people, anyone and everyone. And through dispersing they plan to take Nashville captive and become an unstoppable force unified and breaking the bondage of the "local church" and it's four walls.
They no longer want to be confined and separated by the four walls of a church building. But be the church everyday, everywhere. And through their local church bodies, come together and take on the world.
As a pastor's wife to see a vision that was casted for five years, thinking it was for one thing and watch it suddenly grow into something so much more is amazing. God turned a vision of Forward Church Jim and I had that seemed like it was ending into something revolutionary. It is an honor to have been a part of Forward Church and now see the new angle and vision it is going towards.
When God calls us somewhere for a season, our brains can only imagine so much. But God often has a bigger grander plan we could have never imagined. Allow God to grow the vision he has given you into so much more. Don't put a limit on what God can do. He will blow your mind with wonder!
