Genesis 2:18 Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him."
Notice in this passage it doesn't say I will make man a helper, it says I will make him a helper "just right" for him. Every man is different, and every man God has made a helper "just right" for him. Sometimes and often times we get frustrated with how we complete man.
My husband is directionally challenged. We can drive the same route every day, and somehow he still doesn't know how to get there and back. He has been known to drive hours or even a state over in the wrong direction before he realizes he must be going the wrong way. I like to call it a talent. I don't know, and may never know how one could be that talented at not knowing direction. But what I do know is, God made me exceptionally well at direction.
Sparing you all the awesome detail of how great I am at direction, let me get to the point. Sometimes, I can get very frustrated with my husband for being so awful at directions. It can aggravate the daylights out of me. I very often forget that because he is terrible at them, God made him a suitable helper "just right" for him. Me. I complete him in this area. This is just a petty area. But there are areas God has made me "just right" for him so I can bring "it is good" to the table.
As wives, and pastor's wives we must remember who we are, and who we are to our husbands. It is easy to see where our husbands' lack and get frustrated with them for it. We forget who God created us to be to our husband. We look at other husbands and see they don't lack in the area our husband does. But we must remember where they don't lack, they lack somewhere our husband doesn't. God made our husbands the way they are for a reason. And he chose each of us to be "just right" for our husband.
Next time the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy your marriage in this area of frustration. Remember God created man in his image. He saw it wasn't fit for man to be alone. He took one rib from man and made woman. And made a helper suitable and "just right" for him. And he saw that "it was good." (Genesis)
Pastor's wife you are "just right" for your husband. Don't forget who you are. You are your husband's "helper." Don't get frustrated with your call.
