Girls know girls. We somehow have this crazy third sense that can sniff out women and often times their motives. It can be both a blessing and a curse. We view each other as competition, and enemies. Men on the other hand we view as friends. They are easy to hang out with and talk to.
Remember when we were kids? When the boy at the park got mad at you, he handled it by kicking you in the shin and then you cried and y'all were good the next day. When a girl got made at you, she didn't tell you. Instead she told every girl on the playground why she was mad at you and you weren't liked for weeks.
With age and experience, now as adults we sniff out women like blood hounds. Unfortunately, as we sniff we usually end up letting our flesh take over in the end. Have you ever seen Fox and The Hound? Copper the hound loved Todd the fox from the time they were kids. However, Todd was involved in the accident that made Copper's friend Chief get hurt. Copper ended up confused about who Todd really was and decided to hunt him down. In the end, Copper finds Todd and his owner had his shot locked in. But the unbelievable happened. Copper stood in front of his old friend Todd to save his life.
As women, I know from experience. We all do it. We sniff out women, and go for the kill. We use our sniffing for warning others, avoiding that particular woman, and trying to save ourselves from getting hurt. We allow our flesh to take over in the sniffing realm. However, I do not believe this is the way God intended for us to use it.
Instead of going for the kill, I believe God first of all wants to break the chains of viewing women as enemies. Women aren't our enemies, they are fellow bloodhounds with incredible sniffers (gifts) they don't always use well. No one wants to get hurt. The easy way out would be going for the shot, but what good does it do us? It burns the bridge we are walking on for grace, mercy and love.
We need to start using discernment for God's glory. Use your sniffer to bring God glory, and don't go for the kill. Stand in front of other women and take the blow for them. God never intended us to be enemies. If you sniff out a woman, start praying for her. Take her out to coffee, and get to know her. Speak truth into her life. She may have never had a girl friend who uses her sniffer like that. Only women who avoid her, and don't like her.
Ladies we aren't competition. We aren't enemies. We were never meant to use our gifts to kill. God breathes life. Give life to each other. Pray for each other. Let mercy, grace, love, and forgiveness win.
