We are called by God to be our husband's helper and shepherd people in the role of being a pastor's wife.
First and foremost we seek Jesus. Jesus is center in our lives. Second, we love our husband and strive to be the wife God desires us to be. Next, we do everything it takes to love and raise our children the way the Lord has called us to. And for the real question... Last, we are a pastor's wife to our husband and the church in which we are called to. This may look different for all of us, so I am going to speak in broad terms.
We pray for the church.
We meet with women.
We listen and give input our husband's need.
We encourage, love, and support our husband's role as a Pastor. We are his biggest cheerleaders. You and I both know he needs this, because without it, it can break the ministry.
We carry the burden and weight along side our husband.
We love and pray for our husband.
We speak truth and life into our husband when he gets discouraged.
We are great listeners, because after all our husband's gifting is speaking.
We carry and share the responsibility of shepherding the flock with our husband.
We are lights of the world, and this responsibility alone is huge.
I can go on and on about who we are and what we do. But ultimately we serve our Lord Jesus Christ, and are all individually different in Christ and the role he has called us to. Every one of our roles may look different, but equally we are all kingdom builders here on earth, with the calling of Pastor's Wife bestowed upon us by none other than our heavenly father.
