As I am nearing the time when I Sleep With The Pastor all began I couldn't help but think about the moment that began it all. Last December, my husband made my brief thought of "I Sleep With The Pastor" on a t-shirt come a reality for me. It was a Christmas gift that became real the moment I put it on. God put in me a dream to write to pastors' wives. To tell stories of my journey over the last five years of church planting, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I had a dream of pastors' wives wearing the t-shirts and knowing wherever we are that we are united through who God has made us to be.
The more I wrote, the more you ladies responded. I soon began to realize we are all walking through these circumstances in some sort of form at some point in our ministries as pastors' wives. I began to get even more real and raw with the struggles, and pain that this journey has brought me. As well as the laughter and joy it has given me too. Through your comments and stories back, it has only reassured me even more how much I love being a pastor's wife, and just how much I love pastors' wives.
You ladies truly are a key piece in loving and leading Christ's church. Your stories, struggles, and triumphs are separately and together such beautiful displays of Christ's unrelenting love for His people. I am so thankful for each of you, and I cannot wait to continue to allow God to open my heart to more stories I have tucked away to write to you.
Be encouraged. And remember, through it all…good and bad there is purpose. God can use it for good. So many of my stories I have told over the last year were taxing in those seasons, but God has used them to bring hope to some of you, and shape me into who I am today. As He has done, with so many of your stories you have shared with me.
I hope you had a Merry Christmas, and soon to be New Year. I have enjoyed the little break I have had from writing, but look forward to picking back up today with my daily writings. Thanks for following, and get ready for I Sleep With The Pastor Anniversary come January!
