When it comes to pastoring a church you will have all sorts of people and personalities. Some will love you, and some not so much. Everyone has their different personality traits that will or won't always jive well with you. However, God never called us to love the easy, we are called to love the hard personalities, and not so friendly people too.
I found myself the first couple years of church planting having a hard time with one of our staff wives. We didn't see eye to eye on some things. Looking back, I realize it wasn't her or me that had issues with one another. The enemy was fighting for us to stay separated. He had put little expectations on each of us that we had for each other, and neither of us were living up to who we wanted the other to be. Unfortunately, blindly we played into each others hurt, and allowed the enemy to hinder who God wanted us to be together.
You see the enemy likes to feed off of personalities. I find it funny the bible doesn't speak about loving personalities that only clique with ours, yet we make every excuse to only make friends with whom we "hit it off" with. How many of us have seen the movies where two unlikely friends become the best of friends. I love those movies, because the barrier set up between personalities is somehow broken. God calls us to love everyone, and with loving everyone, this will break down the barriers of personality traits the enemy loves to use. The bible speaks clearly against arguing, bitterness, harsh words, and hate.
Jesus was a friend to many, do your reading. All the disciples were not wired with the same personality. We were never suppose to pick a personality trait to befriend, and close out all other ones that don't align with us. We are suppose to accept people for how God wired them, and love them like crazy.
Pastors' wives get real, and recognize the enemy is out to bring disunity among the church. Sometimes it starts with the leaders. Shake off the past and present hurt that has come your way. Disunity hinders the church from all God intended it to be. Pray, pray, pray for one another. Seek unity, and togetherness. Love each other no matter what. Fight for each other.
