People are important. Jesus died on a cross for the world. He died for them before transformation ever happened in them. He died for them before they ever knew Him. We have to learn how to love people better pastors and pastors' wives. God didn't call us to only love the christians. He called us to love the sick and broken. Unfortunately, most of the time we don't know how to love people exactly where they are.
We think loving people is throwing a bunch of guidelines and rules for them to follow to be a christian and then they can be loved by God and us. That isn't how it works. God never meant for love to be religious punchlines we throw out to people. God's love is so much more beautiful than a rule. Rules will never transform hearts. Spending more and more time with Jesus is what transforms a heart.
We have to grasp a hold of how to love. Christ first loved us by giving His life for us. We have to give Jesus back to the people, and clean our minds of the enemy's lies of expectations, rules, and guidelines we place people in. Rules, and lists will never love people. Jesus' death didn't come with a Christian Rulebook for Dummies. Jesus' love came freely for all. Love people, and love people well. True transformation in someone only ever will come through Jesus.
