I have a friend who loves to bless our family with her family's lake house a few times a year. It is gorgeous and it sits right on the lake. Every window you look out of there is a beautiful landscape of trees, water, and sky. From the time the sun rises to setting it unfolds the beauty of this paradise. It has a huge wrap around deck, there are immaculate rooms lit by natural light, and this place is anything and everything you would want in a house. The lake house is all inclusive and we get it for free. Pontoon boat, jet skis, beautiful view, and a vacation. And for a split week, we forget our life back in Nashville. We feel like we are special, high class, royalty if you will.
Have you ever felt that way? Appreciated, special, important, loved, honored for a moment?
Sooner or later our view of reality sinks back in. Once we get back from our vacation, real life hits us with its two by four and we remember our failures, inadequacy, and where we fall on the loved and appreciated chart.
As Pastors' Wives here are some of the thoughts we believe about ourselves and often times we believe God thinks of us.
We aren't good enough. We aren't equipped to fill this role. I am a failure as a wife. I am a failure as a mother. My personality doesn't fit that of a Pastors' Wife. I am a disappointment. I am not worthy for this position, or a worthy person for that matter. I don't like me, so how could anyone else?
Ladies, no matter who we think we are, we should never allow that to hinder who God has created us to be and who we are becoming in Christ.
GOD HAS NEVER THOUGHT THAT ABOUT YOU AND HE NEVER WILL.
Let me speak over you the promises of God
In Christ He will….
