Putting life and boundaries in the same sentence can be scary for us. Boundaries are hard for us, sometimes too much work and a pain to deal with. However, sin is easy. Sin knocks at our front doors, it meets us in Kroger, or on the highway, and even in our own thoughts.
Do you ever wish you could just stop dealing with sin? We are all ready to say we want to boot sin in the butt but we are not ready put up those boundaries in life to help us do so.
Since starting Forward Church my husband, Jim has set up some pretty strong boundaries in our lives. Did you know 40% of Pastors fall to infidelity in our country? Needless to say, without big boundary #1 that easy sin would be knocking at our door. What this boundary looks like for us: we don’t personal message via facebook, email, or phone opposite sex, we are never alone meeting the opposite sex, and we always let each other know what is going on. This boundary is set for us, by each of us, and other people don’t necessarily have to agree or understand it. When you set up your boundaries in life there will be people who may disagree because that is not a boundary they have.
What boundaries do you have? Is there sin in your life you wish you didn’t face? Maybe if you start setting up guard rails in your life it would keep you from crashing into sin.
